Our story began in 1973 when Brian Chadwick began mixing dyestuffs for Bradford’s textile industry using a cement mixer in the garage at his home in Heaton. As the industry grew, so did Airedale Chemical, with additional staff and expanded facilities.
The business was reorganised into Airedale Group in 2022 with five divisions – Functional, Innovation, Food and Beverage, Metal Surface Treatment and Life Science and Surfactants – and today we are based in Cross Hills, North Yorkshire and remain a family run business with Brian’s grandson, Chris, at the head of the company. With more than 140 employees, over 200 products in our portfolio and thousands of customers up and down the country and into Europe, we are one of the leading UK chemical manufacturers and distributors.
Not only are we committed to our customers we are passionate about remaining connected with our neighbouring residents and communities and have implemented a variety of initiatives for our communities, from primary schools to local parks and defibrillator rollouts.
