Citric Acid (Food Grade)

An acidulant providing flavouring, pH control, preservation and chelation.

Overview

Citric acid (E330) imparts a slightly tart, refreshing flavour that is popular in soft drinks, sports nutrition products, confectionery, preserves, sauces and condiments.

It can be used to control pH, helping formulators balance sweetness and tartness to achieve a more rounded flavour.

By lowering pH, it also helps preserve products and inhibit microbial growth. Citric acid’s chelating properties can bind trace metal ions that cause oxidation, further extending shelf life and preserving colour.

Beyond taste and preservation, citric acid can support product texture in jams and confectionery.

Our food-grade format citric acid is available as a white crystalline powder and a colourless liquid in a range of bulk sizes.
