Magnesium nitrate is highly soluble in water as well as ethanol and occurs naturally in caverns and mines. It is widely used as a fertiliser.

• Used as dietary additive for goats

• Used as an anti-corrosive agent to protect aluminium alloy in the aerospace industry
• Used as a dehydrating agent
