Ferric chloride, also known as iron(III) chloride, is a light-brown liquid as an aqueous solution. It has a faint odour of hydrochloric acid and is made of iron and chlorine.
The compound causes suspended particles, organic matter and phosphates to clump together into flocs, which can then be settled and filtered away.

• Coagulant for heavy metals, oils and organic matter in wastewater
• Odour and sulphide control in sewer networks
