Diethylene glycol is one of several glycols derived from ethylene oxide.
• Used as a dehydrating agent for natural gas
• A raw material for the production of plasticisers and polyester resin
• A widely used solvent
• Used as a humectant in the tobacco industry
• Used in the treatment of corks, glue, paper and cellophane
• Used in the synthesis of morpholine and 1,4-dioxane.
