Technical grade glycerine is a refined, high purity and water miscible product with most of its contaminants completely removed. It contains no salts, methanol or other organic impurities.
It is highly hygroscopic (attracting and retaining moisture, making it an effective humectant) and a freezing point depressant, solvent, lubricant and plasticiser.
These properties lend glycerine to a number of applications, from personal care to antifreeze formulations.
• Anti-freeze, de-icer and engine coolant formulations
• Additive in hydraulic and brake fluid formulations
• Solvent, humectant and viscosity regulator in detergent and cleaning formulations
• Intermediate and solvent in chemical synthesis and adhesives
• Raw material for resins and polyurethane formulations
• Raw material for soap manufacture
• Humectant and carrier in moisturisers, lotions and barrier creams
• Lubricant and softener in fabric processing and paper finishing
• Plasticiser in dye and print paste formulations
