Safety on a chemical manufacturing site must be paramount, and at Airedale Group we take our responsibility to our staff and visitors incredibly seriously.
We have re-booted our incident reporting system to concentrate on leading indicators rather than lagging indicators ensuring our Heinrich Triangle displays more minor/resolved issues, identifying situations even before they reach hazard stage, resulting in less incidents.
On top of this, our Deputy Head of Regulatory leads monthly safety tours dedicated to identifying any areas of site where health and safety measures can be enhanced. Joined by representatives from our production and maintenance teams and a company director, the site is meticulously inspected and areas for improvement are flagged and actioned.
For example, we recently made changes to how our valves are labelled to make the system easier to understand, minimising the risk to users. We also assessed the safety requirements of the newly-created re-packing area to ensure it is the safest space it can be once it is operational.
