Our latest donation to Sue Ryder’s Manorlands has brought our total contribution to £40,000.
Our long running partnership with the hospice has seen staff compete in marathons, a dragon boat race, a football match, sweepstakes, cycle rides, a straw race and ‘It’s a Knockout’ contests to help raise money to upgrade their facilities.
With additional contributions made on behalf of the business, we have been able to help modernise a shower room to make it more accessible as well as purchase a ‘cuddle bed’ which allows families to remain comfortably close to their loved ones when they need it most.
Senior community fundraiser at Manorlands, Harriet Wood, explains: “Our cuddle bed has transformed the experience of many of our residents, allowing them to spend real quality time with their family members in their final days. The refurbishment of the shower room facilities has also created a much more welcoming and comfortable space for people to shower with dignity and in safety.
“The support we receive from businesses like Airedale Group makes all this possible and makes a huge difference to those who are nearing the end of their lives and to their families.”
Airedale Group Managing Director, Richard Ward, adds: “To be able to see the difference our donations have made to the experience of Manorlands’ residents has been truly rewarding, particularly as some of staff have a personal connection to the hospice.
“Our staff have donated many hours and thousands of pounds over the last couple of years and we are proud that Airedale Group has been able to add to that total in support of a wonderful cause and all the incredibly important work everyone does at Manorlands.”
