Agave has a mild, clean and rounded sweetness with a neutral flavour, leaving minimal aftertaste.
Highly soluble in both hot and cold systems, agave syrup integrates easily during processing and supports consistent sweetness, texture and mouthfeel. It also acts as a humectant (moisture retention agent).
As a naturally-derived sweetener, it is often used for products formulated for plant-based food and beverage consumers.
Made organically from 100% blue weber agave, our agave syrup is a lighter variety. This gives it a more neutral flavour that may be suitable for products with a delicate taste profile.

Agave’s clean, mild sweetness is often perceived as around 20-25% sweeter than honey, without honey’s rich floral and fruity notes.
Agave tastes around 30% sweeter than sucrose, allowing the desired level of sweetness to be achieved with less intensity and aftertaste.
Compared to fructose, agave is less sweet but is considered to have a softer, more balanced sweetness with fewer sharp and lingering notes.
Unlike high-intensity sweeteners such as stevia, agave provides sweetness with body, resulting in a balanced, natural-tasting product.
Agave is popularly applied in a wide range of products: beverages like pre-mixed cocktails, baked goods, bars, sauces and plant-based products.
It has high solubility, allowing it to integrate easily in hot and cold systems as well as pH neutral formulations. This ensures consistent sweetness throughout the product.
When used in beverages, agave delivers a smooth, well-integrated sweetness without crystallisation. In sauces, agave can round out flavour profiles, adding balance without overpowering.
Agave should be kept in a cool, dry environment out of direct sunlight.
If stored appropriately in a sealed container, the product will maintain its stability, flavour and functionality for the stated shelf life.
Before use, gentle warming may be required to improve flow when handling.
Our BRCGS-certificated Food & Beverage division supplies a range of other sweeteners (such as honey) and high-quality essential ingredients for producers across the UK and Europe.
