Today marks an incredibly special day at Airedale Group as we celebrate 50 years in business.
On 4 December 1973, our founder, Brian Chadwick began Airedale Chemical as a sole trader, mixing dyes in a cement mixer in his garage.
Although we have retained the personal service, family feel and strong values throughout the decades, we’re now one of the country’s leading chemical companies with five divisions, over 200 products in its portfolio, thousands of customers and around 80,000 tonnes of product leaving site each year.
We began the celebrations earlier this year with a series of activities and festivities marking this fantastic milestone.
We were proud to unveil a wildflower area and community herb bed at our local park in Glusburn to encourage more insect life to the area and provide a valuable resource where our neighbours could collect herbs to liven up their mealtimes, which we hope will leave a lasting legacy for our communities.
In a nod to the Chadwick family roots, we sponsored Bradford Salem Rugby Club, close to where Chris Chadwick grew and somewhere that Brian Chadwick enjoyed supporting as far back as 1976, providing them with kits and resources to continue improvements to their facilities.
Chris Chadwick, Brian Chadwick’s grandson and now the Executive Chairman of Airedale Group, reflects on the anniversary: “Fifty years on since my grandfather started this business and we have grown into a business far beyond his expectations. I’m looking forward to continuing the journey and going from strength to strength.”
