Sodium Tripolyphosphate (STPP)

Sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) is an inorganic compound within a variety of domestic and industrial products, especially detergents.

As a water softener with a relatively low environmental impact and toxicity level, STPP is prime for use in the detergents and cleaning industry. Commercial detergency products account for the majority of STPP consumption.

A non-flammable compound, STPP also holds use across the textile industry as a synthetic leather tanning agent and masking agent. It also holds use in anticaking agents, flame retardants, rubber manufacture, ceramics (for decreasing viscosity) and much more.
