Environmental Focus: Part Two – Water reduction

Water is arguably the world’s most precious resource and reducing its usage is a huge part of our plans to make our site as sustainable and carbon neutral as possible.

Our plans for water conservation are ongoing and improvements will continue throughout this year and into the future as we progress our journey to net zero by 2045.

As part of this focus on water, we have:

• Installed a 20-metre borehole which provides 68 % of the water used in our on-site processes
• Reduced the amount of drinking-quality water used in our manufacturing to zero litres
• Carried out an investigation into how to capture rainwater for re-use on site
• Created plans to store and feed that rainwater into the borehole plant which will reduce further the amount of water extracted
